Picture Of The Week – Got A Little Ol’ Convoy

picture_of_the_weekPOTW4Ah, breaker one-nine, this here’s the Rubber Duck…. looks like we got us a Picture Of The Week! This week we got a look at this pair of custom built Tamiya King Haulers from PJ Westhoff from Hartford, SD. PJ built the orange rig for his wife to her specs and started with a custom made frame and replaced nearly all of the plastic bits with aluminum ones from True Scale RC and IHB Customs. He topped it off with a 379 Peterbilt with a custom sleeper cab and finished it with a set of Alcoa 10-hole scale wheels, True Scale air cleaners, IH Builder front bumper and a full set of lights and a sound kit. The other truck is PJ’s personal ride and is custom built to the same specs as his wife’s but with a different paint job. He took this pair outside and use a low camera angle to get this amazing realistic looking shot and it sure is a beauty!

Have a killer shot of your vintage ride? Send it to us (and tell us a little bit about it) to be entered into our Picture Of The Week contest. Every week we’ll feature a new picture and give away some cool prizes to each winner!

What can I say, the only thing I've done longer than RC is breathe! I got my first car when I was 11 and never looked back. Hundreds of cars and trucks later I've raced everything from Off-Road to Boats. Whether I’m down siding a jump or going fast and turning left, it’s on like Donkey Kong and my foot is to the floor! I love seeing new people discover our hobby and helping anyone I can enjoy it more. I organize the Vintage Offroad Nationals, I’m also a dad and enjoy teaching my son how to drive and watching him get into this hobby on his own.
