Picture Of The Week – TQ10 Takes On The Fall

picture_of_the_weekThis week’s Picture Of The Week comes from Ed Ernst of Berkeley Heights, NJ. Ed is a hardcore vintage collector and built this Horizon Hobby TQ10 to match the car in their ad seen in the January 1990 issue of Car Action Magazine. The TQ10 was made for Horizon by Team Associated and featured all the same parts at the RC10 with the addition of a custom graphite chassis. Ed’s TQ is fitted with MIP steering posts, a Reedy SCE NiCD battery, Novak T4 speed control, Team Associated Competition Stock motor and topped off with an Andy’s Heathen painted body and was laid down in this Autumn setting to catch this super cool fall holiday shot.

For his creativity, and Picture Of The Week submission, Ed wins a Tekin logo hat courtesy of Team Tekin. Great work Ed!

Have a killer shot of your vintage ride? Send it to us (and tell us a little bit about it) to be entered into our Picture Of The Week contest. Every week we’ll feature a new picture and give away some cool prizes to each winner!

What can I say, the only thing I've done longer than RC is breathe! I got my first car when I was 11 and never looked back. Hundreds of cars and trucks later I've raced everything from Off-Road to Boats. Whether I’m down siding a jump or going fast and turning left, it’s on like Donkey Kong and my foot is to the floor! I love seeing new people discover our hobby and helping anyone I can enjoy it more. I organize the Vintage Offroad Nationals, I’m also a dad and enjoy teaching my son how to drive and watching him get into this hobby on his own.
